INVITATION FROM THE PASTOR

If you are looking for a church home, or a safe
place to explore your spiritual journey, we welcome you.
We are a church that emphasizes God’s acceptance
and love, not fear and rules. We prefer conversation and good questions
to pat answers.
From the very beginning, Greenville Community Church
has been a church for the newcomer, the outsider, open to the community,
and welcoming to all. This heritage of hospitality and diversity
lives on today. People from all sorts of backgrounds are a part
of our congregation.
What is our heritage? We belong to the Reformed
Church in America, which began in New York in 1628 and is the oldest
denomination in North America. What does Reformed mean? Reformed
refers to our roots in the Protestant Reformation of the 1500’s.
The benchmarks of the Reformation were the centrality of Christ,
grace, faith, and the Bible. But to be “reformed” also
means to be continually re-formed, ever re-forming. So we are deeply
rooted, yet also seeking God's new directions.
