OUR MUSIC PROGRAM

An appreciation for music is as much a part of Greenville Community Reformed Church as is its architecture. The choir includes four section leads that are drawn from the prestigious music conservatories in New York City. Instrumental support includes:

a composite organ: 70% E M Skinner, 30% Moller & Estey, with an Austin console
(3 manuals + pedal, 29 ranks) and a 9 foot Steinway grand piano in the sanctuary
a Baldwin upright piano in Hessler Hall
a Steinway baby grand in the lounge
a Story & Clark upright piano in the choir room.

Music is a very important part of our worship service, and our hymns and anthems consist of traditional to contemporary, including Gospel/spiritual and instrumental. Our hymnals are Hymns, Psalms & Spiritual Songs (Westminster/John Knox Press) and Sing! A New Creation (Reformed Church Press).

Annual Community Musical Series

Our church sponsors a series of recitals and other musical events throughout the year. These are innovative performances of great music held in the sanctuary of the church on select Sunday afternoons at 4:00PM. The music series presents a fascinating array of extraordinary music performed by world class musicians right here in Westchester. The programs include beloved classical favorites as well as contemporary works, and are open to the public.

Again this year we are also presenting family focused Kids’ Cushion Concerts.

MINISTRY OF MUSIC

The Greenville Community Church is fortunate to have an accomplished Director of Music in Giuseppe Spoletini, an outstanding pianist/organist in David Shenton, and an excellent and dedicated choir whose voices significantly enhance the musical aspect of our worship service.

PIANIST/ORGANIST AND CHOIR

Our choir is composed of a combination of amateur singers drawn from the congregation, as well as professional section leaders, accompanied by a professional pianist/organist.
