Jeanai LaVita & David Bailey Concert

Greenville Community Church proudly presents Jeanai LaVita and David Bailey in concert on Saturday, June 23, at 4:00 PM.

Jeanai and David will perform a program of soaring soprano and tenor solos and duets from classical, opera and musical theatre repertoire. Both artists are known for their beautiful tone quality and vibrant, endless upper vocal registers (or high notes, in short if you prefer). Join them for an afternoon of the most beautiful music written for the voice, including a 100th Birthday tribute to Leonard Bernstein.

Jeanai La Vita has performed as a soloist in leading and supporting roles with renowned companies such as New York City Opera, Boston Lyric Opera and the Ravinia Festival.

Jeanai also performs with her husband, classical guitarist Giacomo La Vita, as the La Vita Duo. They recently performed in Shanghai and for the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. Their album, Nightfall, won a JP Morgan Chase Creative Arts Grant.

Jeanai is on voice faculty at Manhattan School of Music in the Precollege Division and a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, American Guild of Musical Artists and the National Association of Teachers of Singing. www.Jeanai.com

David has performed with many of the local NY companies, most recently as the Duke in the American premiere of Donizetti’s La Zingara and Alfred in Die Fledermaus for Amore Opera. He performed the title role in Faust for the Roman Borgman Opera Theatre in Brooklyn.  With Regina Opera of Brooklyn, he has performed Camille in The Merry Widow and Alfredo in La Traviata.  In concert, he performed the songs of James Joyce at Bloomsday at Symphony Space.

Regionally, David has worked with composer Carlisle Floyd and conductor Anton Coppola on scenes from Floyd’s Of Mice and Men for Opera Tampa.  As an apprentice with Florida Grand Opera, he performed Beppe in Pagliacci and Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor.  His work in Europe includes Den Nye Opera Norway and the Lyrique en Mer Festival France in productions of La Traviata, and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte with the Charlemagne Orchestra in Brugge, Belgium.
